Just gorgeous! But, you know, I could become jealous of creative people since I was woefully shortchanged in that department.

My question is; what did you you do to sterilize the whiskey barrel? The reason I ask; is because about 10 years ago; I purchased a dozen discarded barrels from a brewery. Was able to obtain about a gallon of the best pure whiskey out of each. Called "Swish". So me thinks; that unless that barrel has been totally neutralized; it could be toxic to your fish.

It has a drop in barrel liner.

Thanks. I had a lot of fun throwing it together. It was really quite easy.

It is still a bit chilly at night here, so there is an aquarium heater.

I am going to get a dwarf water lily. I am thinking a hermine lily. If they are out of stock I will go with a helvola or a Perry's baby red.

After only a few days of being set up, the parrots feather has already doubled in size and is now breaking the surface.

One of the water lettuce is perking up and starting to float correctly. The other lost most of it's root system. I am guessing that it will bounce back quickly though.

The floating and submersible plants came from Florida. During the trip they were flattened a bit and resulted in them not floating correctly.

I think adding the submersible heater benefited the plants as much as the fish.
