A few months ago I got 2 guppies, one male and one female. They were the same metallic color except the male was a bit brighter than the female, which is normal for guppies. I brought them home and put them in a tank. Now the male is turning from the metal color to a really pretty blue and yellow! By no means am I complaining, but why is the guppy changing color?

Maybe he is maturing. Guppies develope their full color more as they mature, in my experience.

Tonight while I was feeding them I noticed the female's tail was the same pretty yellow as the males. The female should be duller than the male right?

They usually have shorter tails and less color.
