After seeing some pretty awesome cichlid tanks, I think my project for next year will be an african tank, maybe 55 gallons, though I'd love to go bigger.... :) I worry about the weight!

Here's what I currently have (sorry, these were the best pics I could get):

46 gallon bowfront:

5.5 gallon with baby platies (can't really make out)

rather sad 20 gallon with the survivors of a red-tail black shark tankmate (gourami, h. rasboras -- actually I saved them -- and some checkboard barbs)

finally, the 29 gallon 'tetra tank' which currently holds only a few black phantoms and neon tetras (and 2 juvenile b-n plecos)

Hey I LOVE your 46 gallon bowfront. It's a nicely planted tank. Good job and :nicefish:

Hi love_my_fish,
Are you planning to keep blue rams? They're not that difficult to keep at all.:wink2: Mind you, they're fun to watch.:welldone:

Actually I just came back from the fish store (didn't get anything), and saw they had some blue rams, beautiful -- however they had a pair quite dead on the bottom of their tank and one shy one in the back. So I will wait. I was actually looking for some tetras. Ever hear of Krilli tetras? I may have that wrong, I've never seen them before and I'm not sure how big they can get? They are a narrower tetra with a purplish/black horizontal stripe.

Sounds more like Kerri Tetras.:) They can be a bit nippy but otherwise peaceful.

That's em! Good, I may go back for these to add to my phantoms and neons. They are very nice looking tetras!

Argh!!!:redmad: I regret myself for being in a geographical location where tetras like those are often rare and expensive.
I've been searching high and low for diamond tetras(Moenkhausia pittieri), but with mailing, it's going to cost me much.:blueshake:

Nice fish though.
