Moving fish tank to tank ??

949 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Robbin48
I have an established 37 g tall and an established 75 g. My 37 is getting full (lots of diamond tetra babies) and want to move the diamonds to the 75. Do they have to be acclimated to the new tank (how would you do that?) and do you move them all at once?

Thanks for any help with this....

I agree...if you manage the tanks the same so the water quality is nearly the same AND the temperature is pretty much the same, you can safely move fish from one tank to another. Acclimation (preferably drip) is really important when the water is, or may be very different...in pH, hardness or other aspects of quality. This gives the fish a better chance to slowly acclimate to the change(s).
In a tank to tank move where the water is basically the same, it's really not necessary.
