So here's the deal....

55 Gallon Tropical Freshwater tank.

0 Ammonia, 0 Nitrites and Nitrates are around 20.

The tank has been up and running for about 3 months and some things have occured where I have to move the tank downstairs to another room. I only have 11 fish in there right now. 2 Tiger Barbs, 2 bleeding heart tetras,2 blood fin tetras, 2 Cory Catfish, 1 Gold twin bar molly i beleive, 1 dalmation molly and 1 red platy

What is the best way to go about moving the tank downstairs....I have plenty of buckets that are clean and able to fill with water, I just don't want to hurt my cycled tank and have to recycle all over.

Ok, the best way of moving the tank without damaging the filter is to be very organised and do as quickly as possible.

Remove fish and tankwater into buckets, move substrate (or as much as you can) and ornaments etc into another bucket of tankwater.

Get the tank downstairs as quicly as possible, replace substrate, water and fish. That's how I moved mine - and didn't have any problems.

Just be careful when carrying the fish in the buckets of water. Try to make sure they're not too heavy so that they don't 'swish' about too much when you carry them in the buckets - and good luck, it's always a stressful job to do!
