Hey guys, I have 40 mollie fry in my tank with 4 adult mollies, 1 platy, 1 sucker fish, and 1 upside down catfish. I have another tank I am trying to get ready to put my fry in but my nitrites don't seem to be going down. It's at 0.25ppm at the moment and there's >1ppm of ammonia. I've tried doing 20% water changes but nothing has changed. There are 10ppm of nitrates and perfect ph. I'm just wondering if it's okay to put them in now or do I have to keep waiting? The tank has been running for 2-3 weeks now.

No, never put fish in a tank if there’s ammonia or nitrite present.
Could you not transfer a little mature media from the other tank? This would remove the ammonia and nitrite in a day or two.

Also, if I may, please get some more upside-down cats. They live in schools that can get into the hundreds or even more, and should never be on their own. Please keep at least half a dozen.... or none. :)
