I can confirm that last time I saw both Loaches in my tank was about 3 days ago. They both looked very healthy and very active. I have had them for 3 months and they are well acclimated. I got them when they were about 1+1/2 inches and now they are 3 inches. I have been really busy the last 3 days so although I have been feeding my fish daily, however I haven't had time to really observe my tank.
Anyway, I just finished cleaning my tank and still have not been able to locate my second Loach. Although when I was gravel Vacuuming I did notice there seemed to be an unusual about of debris in one spot. However I know that sometimes shimp wafers and algae thins can get buried and not get eaten my the fish
Can clown loaches jump? There is a gap where the filters are but I checked the surrounding area and didn't find anything.
I also checked some of my decorations, since I have had a bad experience where a fish was inside a decoration when I cleaned the tank and when I put the decorations back in the tank I found it at the bottom of the bucket, dead
I really want to know what happened to my other Loach. I am hoping to find some remnants just so I can definitely confirm it didn't jump out. Any suggestions on where else I could look???
Also currently the single Loach I have left is acting normally, very content always looking for food. Can he survive on his own? or does he definitely need a partner? I get a lot of mixed opinions about Loaches. I know they are definitely a social schooling fish that prefers a large group, however I have also heard that many people just keep one loach in their tank due to their adult size, and they usually do fine....
