I can confirm that last time I saw both Loaches in my tank was about 3 days ago. They both looked very healthy and very active. I have had them for 3 months and they are well acclimated. I got them when they were about 1+1/2 inches and now they are 3 inches. I have been really busy the last 3 days so although I have been feeding my fish daily, however I haven't had time to really observe my tank.

Anyway, I just finished cleaning my tank and still have not been able to locate my second Loach. Although when I was gravel Vacuuming I did notice there seemed to be an unusual about of debris in one spot. However I know that sometimes shimp wafers and algae thins can get buried and not get eaten my the fish

Can clown loaches jump? There is a gap where the filters are but I checked the surrounding area and didn't find anything.

I also checked some of my decorations, since I have had a bad experience where a fish was inside a decoration when I cleaned the tank and when I put the decorations back in the tank I found it at the bottom of the bucket, dead :(

I really want to know what happened to my other Loach. I am hoping to find some remnants just so I can definitely confirm it didn't jump out. Any suggestions on where else I could look???

Also currently the single Loach I have left is acting normally, very content always looking for food. Can he survive on his own? or does he definitely need a partner? I get a lot of mixed opinions about Loaches. I know they are definitely a social schooling fish that prefers a large group, however I have also heard that many people just keep one loach in their tank due to their adult size, and they usually do fine....

Well, I found it :( BE CAREFUL about what ornaments you have in your aquarium!

A Warning to anyone who has this ornament or is considering it... IT IS NOT SAFE FOR FISH! Picture below:[

I looked everywhere for this poor little guy. Today, while checking again, I noticed a rather unpleasant smell coming from one of my ornaments which I pulled out of the tank. I looked inside every crevice to see if there was potentially a decomposing Loach inside, still nothing. At first I tried not to destroy the ornament since it wasn't cheap. I began breaking off small pieces and tried looking in with a flashlight, still.. nothing. Finally I broke a bigger whole and realized that inside was filled with even more tiny crevice's and holes a fish could easily fit into. At that point I thought it had to be in there, so I took a hammer and smashed off a big chunk. (Note: look in the picture how many places a fish could get stuck. What are the designers of these ornaments thinking?)

To my sadness I found my the twisted remains of my poor loach wedged inside one of the "tunnels". I learned my lesson about aquarium decor :-(. WARNING PICTURE IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!

Oh no! that sucks so bad! Well learned your lesson, why would you get such ornament anyways? just go planted looks better and it helps the tank too, also is that gravel i see? change to sand it is better for clowns, You should get him a partner. Also why do you only have 1 diamond tetra??? Im also surprised the blood red parrot hasn't eaten the tetra yet either. What filter do you have? Answer these questions and i will help you

damn that sucks.... clown loaches tend to like to squeeze into tight spaces to hide. Dont have decor that have small space for them to go into cuz once their bigger or something they cannot get out =/.
i have 3 clown loaches and they keep going into tight spaces to sleep or something, but they are lively in the morning or nighttime.
i got my clown loaches for 7.50 each it was 50 percent off out of 14.99. they very large too.

i fed them with flakes, what you feed them though?
