I accidentally brought a taxi power head pump 500l/hr, suitable for up to 125lt but don't really know what to use it for. I am in the process of setting up a 60 ltr tank and was hoping there was some use for the powerhead pump. Everyone I have asked seems to think it's pretty useless but i was hoping that I could attach a sponge filter or something.

I use powerheads in tanks that are long like 48 inches long+. they help with water circulation and filtration with a sponge attached to them. but I use them in conjunction with a hob that is placed on the other side of the aquarium.

theres more uses to list for a powerhead then you might relize.

That's about 130gallons per hour in a 15 gallon tank. Sounds like too much for the tank unless you had some extreme flow requirements.

Jeff.
agree, if you do end up using as a filter with sponge attached make sure to get fish that like strong currents some do some don't

There is a dial to change flow. I plan on attaching a undergravel filter to it (i know they arnt the best) as well as using a regular internal filter. I just don't want the pump to go to waste.
