I have one tropical fish, a pleco named Jethro. Jethro is around 11 years old and a little over 14" long. I also have a 900+ gallon pond in our back yard with 32 goldfish. Jethro summers in the pond and spends almost 9 months in a heated 50 gallon tank in the house. I miss my babies in the winter, they get covered and a heater is used to keep a hole open in the ice. This year after being in the tank less then 2 days Jethro jumped out. We don't know exactly how long he was out of the tank but it was a minimum 9 hours. When he was found, surprisingly alive, he was put back in the tank dusty and dirty. Four days later he looks like his fins are shredded, his skin is sloughing off and he has raw areas on his stomach area. HELP . I don't know what to do for him. Is he dying or will all that grow back.
Thanks for any ideas.
