hello fish lovers! thanks for reading.....i have a 20 gal. long tank. I had started out with five cichlids and after 2 killings and one sever bruising i sent the last two brutes (socolofi & labryinthitis) back to the fish store and kept the badly attacked auratus to heal. I caught the attack quick so he still had most of his fins...I treated with a melafix and he's really looking good!! i'm so proud of his littel tough-ass personality....his name is Nigel. So....I'm starting to think what cAn i put in there with him if anything.....I don't mind having him alone but ...was just wondering.
I also have a 20gal. tall community tank , stocked and a 5 gal. tank with 4 female bettas. I named them after my sisters and love to watch them go through the pecking order.
Thanks in advance for your input!! I love fish!

What size fish are we taking about here as by far the most aggressive is the Auratus. Did you actually witness the aggression or just the result of?

The tank is too small to house any cichlid in from Lake Malawi, they need a 40g breeder minimum with a 55g or larger being better.

Thanks for the reply! I guess Nigel will be a loner for a little while longer....In this tank the Socolofi was the dominant one. The Auratus held his own until the last fight. Yes, I saw the attack and was glad i did. I have a lead on acquiring a 55 gal. tank. Maybe I will have more luck with the Cichlids after setting that tank up.
