What is the difference between Single Linear Strip and Double Linear Strip in Power Compact Fixtures? I have 55 gallon tank fish only, I would like to upgrade to soft coral, which one is more recommended. I also found this item in eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/48-Power-Compac...096064378QQcategoryZ46314QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem is it worth buying this item. Is their any other economical way to have powerful lights for a reef aquarium without being to cheap an buying a bad lighting system.

I have a 55 gallon tank set up for saltwater; my aquarium has been running for about 4 months. I have 4 fish two clown fishes and two blue damsels and 5 turbo snails . I have two filters a mechanical and biological one, I just recently did water changed, I feed my fish once a day. I also have 12 ½ pounds of live rock in it.[/u]

Single-double linear usually refers to it having one or two bulbs that are the same length as the fixture.

That's a nice enough light. I'd not get to involved with SPS with it as you'll have a little less then 5wpg. Start with LPS and softies, see how it goes. You could probably keep a few less demanding species of SPS at the very top of the tank. Think birdsnest, green slimer, and caps.

doesnt seem like its enough light for sps, i would go for MH lighting for sps since you get the best results from those. Unless im wrong the ebay one doesnt say what company name it is so thats not that good either, i wouldnt trust that ad.
