So, if you all remember I had a bit of a PH problem before. Well i replaced my PH probe as suggested (every year) and my reading were .5 lower than before. So instead of running at 8.0 im now at 7.5. I have a theory that when i add my biopellet reactor that took about 1 gallon to fill, so my top off compensated for it (adding RO).

Can this affect PH? Im going to test my bucket of salt mix to see its parameters.

I was planning on adding kalkwasser to my ATO, but I worried about jamming the elos osmocontroller pump as it sits on the bottome on the container. Do you think I should add an additional pump to keep the kalk thouroughly mixed?

Thanks,

Did you check your freshly made salt mix after aerating? If the pH is still low when the salinity is correct then you can consider adding kalkwasser.

Adding kalkwasser can be a tricky business. Depending on your alkalinity, you could end up precipitating out a bunch of calcium carbonate which can cause more problems. I would suggest reading through some of the articles here to learn more about what may be causing your low pH readings and what you can do to remedy it.
