Its about 1.7L in volume....titchy. Built in light and undergravel filter. My brother saw it and likes it, his rooms is only a box room reallly, but is there any fish that would be happy in there on its own with that little swimming space? :/

Thanks

I'd go with shrimp, that's not even a gallon of water. Shrimp pretty much need live plants though, and I don't know if that light is suitable.

Would they get enough light with it sat on his window sill? He gets the morning sun direct until about 12.30pm.

Surely Betta's are too big?:-?

That is way too small for a betta. They are a lot more active than people give them credit. Not to mention that something like that won't hold a steady temp.

Honestly I wouldn't even buy that. You could get a (still small) tall hexigon tank for something like shrimps for probably about the same price as that tiny tank.

I thought so. :/ I shall just tell him that he can't have it unless he wants one of those fake fish! lol! If he wants fish he'll just have to get rid of his tardis thingymajig!

Thanks everyone for the clarification! :D

I agree, for the price of that 'decorative' fish tank he could probably get a basic 20gal tank/hood combo.
He can't have a 20g!! Mine's only 6.3...that would not be on. I'm already jealous I can't have one as big as some of you guys! lol!

I agree with you its expensive, I think his birthday money is burning a hole in his pocket and he liked the idea of having a fish tank alarm clock:lol:! (I think its kinda cool but far too small for me!)

+x - way too small for fish as any fish would suffer in such a confined space.

It would be wrong to put any fish in there.

You most certainly be able buy a 1.5gal all glass for the same price.

I didn't think it would be suitable, but it never hurts to ask anyway, just in case there were any 'micro' fish out there!!

He's now begging mum to let him have a bigger tank in his room, but she's saying no because she thinks he won't clean it. Though he promises he will because I've threatened to 'rescue' any fish he has with no second chances if he does get one! Will see where this goes....!

There are 'micro' fish, but they also need at least 5gal if not 10, because they're schooling fish. But they are more difficult to care for, since they are so tiny. Plus they're usually hard to find locally.

Wow, I bet they're cool!! ....Gee I wish I had the money and space to get one of those 750 litre tanks, or 3. :/
