Since yesterday one of my iridescent sharks has been acting as if he has a neurological problem. He is can't seem to swim straight. He will do loop de loops. He is pretty active, well moving...just on his side. He doesn't seem visually harmed. Just really painful to watch this fish swimming literally upside down. Is he slowly dying :( ? Or ill? This is the 2nd day he has been like this. What do I do?

TIA!

Hi Julie.

What are your water stats?:) Seems like something is wrong with your water.

Sometimes with swim bladder problems there could be a blockage in the intestine. Feed it some deshelled peas, this acts as a laxative. You could also try bathing it in some Episom salt, that works as a laxative too.

What are you feeding it? Try swtiching the diet a little and see if that has any effect.

No other physical symptoms? How big is your tank?

Check your ammonia, a spike can usually cause a fish to "twitch" or swim in odd quick patterns. if he is staying upsidedown mostly then yah swim bladder. Do you windex, change any thing, how much do you feed? just my guess.
