So my new green neons have ick (which I seem to have under control as it's not spreading) and one of them definitely has a fungus. I've got the tank temp a little over 86 and am on day 3 of treating with Quick Cure (half dose as indicated for tetras). Will the Quick Cure cure the fungus too or am I going to have to treat that separately?

I've read conflicting reports on this online and would love to know if anyone has any personal experience with this. I'd love to save this little guy!

Water's great - it's a planted tank that was stripped and cleaned but established with filter media from my big tank. As of today, these fish have been in there one week and I've already done one water change. Will do another tomorrow.

On a side note, I just lost a neon to...I'm not sure what. No signs of ich or fungus, but he was skinny and his eyes were bulging a bit. He just stopped swimming and sank to the bottom where he finally stopped breathing. He was also the smallest of the bunch.

Neons aren't particularly strong nowadays - some degree of die off is to be expected, in my experience.

I figured that with regular neons, but these were wild green neons, not the standard overbred variety. I'm sure the stress of travel plays some part too, but after a week I thought we were past that.

Yeah I don't know about green neons. But, skinny with bulging eyes leads me to believe it wasn't in the best shape to begin with. There are any number of internal problems the fish may have had, that would be difficult if not impossible to diagnose.

And...the one with the fungus just died. Oy. They're dropping like flies today.
