I found what appear to be fruit flies or some kind of bug flying around my tank. Normally this wouldn't alarm me but I found some orange worm looking things in my co2 diffuser... When I saw them it reminded me of mosquito larvae so I wondered if the bugs had layed them. Is it harmful? Should I get rid of it? Are these little orange worm looking things (they are very small and don't appear to move) larvae of the bugs? Or are they some parasite? There aren't any inhabitants besides a few snails and some plants.

If the orange things aren't moving, it's possible they could be the eggs of the snails. Or, I suppose, depending on what type of fish you have, even fish eggs.

As for the fruit flies, no worries there. Even if the orange things do turn out to be the larva, again, no worries. Just flick the bugs into the water for the fish to eat.

Oh yeah I have lots of snails . I don't have any fish right now but the tank will one day house a betta, which are supposed to like eating insects anyway :-D.

Thanks for the reply!
