Beautiful tank! I have some questions if you don't mind.

150W on a 17g, are you really at 8.5W/g? Do you know what wavelengths the leds are?

Do you ever have problems with surface scum with a relatively calm surface? How do you filter the top?

What kind of snails do you have? I've always read that they are pests, but I've always had them in my tanks and never had to try to eliminate them.

@moneymitch: thanks! I'll come up with the exact dosing for you soon. As for the specs, they should all be up there in the first post.

@Jeffrey: It's actually a 32W but is "equivalent to a 150W metal halide."
I usually have my water level around the mouth of the filter outlet for surface agitation. Sometimes I leave it just above the outlet because it creates a vortex that sucks the film down into the tank. As you might guess, if I leave the level too high, I end up with unsightly protein films.
I just have pond snails in my tank. They used to be a real problem because I was overfeeding but that isn't a problem anymore :)

Edit:: so it looks like I can't edit the first post so I'll add content here:
Day 126 (April 2, 2013)

Added a vinyl paper background. Very subtle difference but it makes the background lighting a lot more even.

Sunset effect LED tape in the back

Expecting a Linea Cup from Anubias of hydrocotyle sp. "japan" as a test run. Will throw some around the smaller/midground rocks. Might have to remove a bit of blyxa to do so. If it grows well, I'll be using Anubias products for my next project after the summer ends.
