I know this is an old thread, but I have a question, very similar to this.

If i add salt to a tank with sand in it, after the time is up, how do i get the salt out?

The sand is live sand. I hate to take it out, but ... Im just not sure how to do this. o_O

Its just a 5 gal, with one betta and two new plants, will take the plants/bulbs out.

Thank you. :-?

What is the purpose for adding the salt to your water? Are you treating for disease or?
It isn't about removing it from the substrate, the salt is dissolved in the water. Water changes reduce the salinity of the water. Taking out "salty" water and replacing it with water that has no salt in it reduces the total amount of salt in the tank. Change 20% of the water volume daily over a period of days and you will effectively remove the salt content from the tank.

Yes, will add salt for calumnaris. Live sand, yes already has bb in it. Its not the bb im worried about, its the sand. I love this color and it was costly to have shipped. =)
