Does anyone know how long fish in a 29 gallon tank can survive without a filter?

If you add Stress zime and do weekly water changes, they can last longer than nothing. The problem with not having a filter is that the fecal and left over food decays and produes ammonia. Stress zime helps bacteria develop that will help take care of the ammonia, and weekly water changes of 25% - 50% will also take out some ammonia.

I would suggest to everyone and anyone that you read Aquariums for Dummies. After reading you will feel like an aquarium pro.

You really should find out what they are. This will help in treating, maintaining, and adding to your tank. All fish have different needs and if you don't even know what kind of fish you have then how will you take care of them properly?

Cutelilpleco is right. But i wouldnt recommend having ANY TANK what-so-ever be without a filter. I dont care what other people say about some chemicals to put it. Chemicals are a last resort for me and i hate them. They can cause stress to the fish and do other stuff. So just dont ever try to not have a filter. And if your changing the carbon pad rinse it in tank water not tap water.

Best advice we can give is "Research before buying a fish". Not doing this is like Impulse Buying. Impulse buying brings you nothing but troubles. This can create a panic situation as pandemonium occurs due to the indifferences of the fish.

It's best to stick with fish in the same origin rather than lumping all fish in one tank with different requirements. Each fish is unique which is why, again, I advised that do a research before buying a fish.
