I Am going to get rig of some of my fish and get new ones and i want new plants but i want them to be healthy unlike the plants i have now. I dont want to run co2 cause thats way to expensive but what kind of additives should i add?
Ok, we need to start with tank size and what plants you want to get. Anything over 3w/g or high light according to THIS site is going to require at least DIY CO2. Anything under can be managed with no CO2 and maybe the addition of Fluorish Excel.
Get us the information first and then we can go from there.
the problem i have with home made co2 is how do you decide when you have too much co2 i the tank. you need it to be safe for your fishes too. I am geting rid of some guppies and maybee a cory cat and a shrimp. My tank is just too overcrowded.
