I have a 75 gallon tank with 6 cardinals, I have a Krib in an other tank who, for safety, is hidding from a 30 cm Oscar. I really want the Krib to be safe and move it to the smaller tank. But will the Krib eat the cardinals? Thanks for all answers

Probably not, unless the krib is full size and the cardinals are very small and the krib is so stressed it becomes overly aggressive.

At least you now know why Oscars should be alone.

Thanks a bunch!:-D I will move the Krib (and keep it alone - no mating pair). I just want all to be safe. The oscar was intended for a lone tank but for finically reasons this isn't possible for now. You sir are awesome :)

Thank you.:thankyou:

I'm going to use this opportunity to comment, not to berate you but just to point out for others' benefit why I offer certain advice, in this instance fish and current tank space.

My maxim which I learned many years ago and have eversince followed is this: Never buy any fish for which you do not now at the time of acquisition have a suitable tank set up that will accomodate the fish at maturity. Plans for additional/larger tanks are nice, but other things frequently get in the way and this doesn't become a reality, as here.;-)

Byron.
I did, the dog ran into, and around, my (empty) 6 foot x12 x 18 tank with its led and pull it over. I still cant walk barefoot anywhere near that area no matter how many hoverings. I cant find a 'vanilla' tank anywhere, only stupid set ups costing over 1 k for that size. BTW the the dog lived......though I had momentarily considered a canine BBQ

That is a misfortune.:-(
