I have kept perch and bass in aquariums before. I think they're related to chiclids (like oscars), so they share a lot of behaviour patterns. Treat them like coldwater oscars: no heater, very heavy filtration, big tank. You can have a thin sand or gravel substrate (or bare bottom) and be sure to use plenty of rocks and wood to give them enough hiding places. I don't know if the deer antlers in the tank is a good idea, I would think that they would leach way too much calcium into the water or something. I don't know how harmful that would be to the fish, but it would make the tank a bugger to clean.
As for feeding, start off with live food and gradually switch them over to pellets and frozen food. Mine got so tame they would take pieces of meat from my hand.
