[Fish Frenzy]

Hello!

I am having a really hard time picking my fish and need help!

First off, I am a fish newb and have a 20 gallon tank, which I would like to have fish in by mid March at the latest.

I know I want Panda Cories, but my fish lady told me to wait until I have had other fish for at least a month before getting bottom feeders. So I will.

But I can't pick what else to get! I was thinking Tiger Barbs, but I don't want them bugging my cories. Then I was thinking Dwarf gouramis, but I heard they can be aggressive and I don't really know how many to get, if I should start a tank with them or what else they go good with. (But I really do like the look of them)

Can anyone suggest something good to start my tank with?

I don't want anything overly big because I do not want to limit myself. I would like a nice, small variety.

Yes, I do. I was planning on doing fish cycling, I don't feel comfortable doing the ammonia cycling with my first tank. So I wanted a really hardy fish to start with.

Will Platies work well for that?
