We are pretty new to fish but have had a 10 gal tank with a few neons and catfish and loaches and decided to go bigger, so got more fish! Now my big boy loach (just about 2.5 in long) is in hiding mode :/

here’s the count:
  • 7 guppies (2 yin and yang, 3 leopard, and 2 blue)
  • 7 neon tetras
  • 2 zebra loaches - 1 large and 1 new/small zebra loach (hoping to give Mr Emo a friend)
  • 2 Albino corys
  • 2 tiny panda corys
did I just completely stress out my Zebra? Prior to the additions, he was enjoying himself and roaming everywhere in the 30 gal with just the neons and the corys - the guppies are all new and the one extra loach. Way too much?! Help please and thank you!!

I have more than that in my 30 gallon tank, I would say your fine. Zebra loaches are awesome snail destroyers, a snail can not survive in the same tank as a loach. Be careful what you add to your tank with the loaches.

Tomorrow I will add about 20 shrimp, 10 Neons, 5 to 10 Zebra Danios and maybe more. If I can find them I will get 4 Kuhli Loaches
