Hello and welcome to the forum.
You mentioned you had aquariums when you were younger.
Are the tanks you have running right now cycled? Have they been through the nitrogen cycle?
What are your nitrite and nitrate levels at the moment?

Welcome to TFK. My wife says you need more live plants in both tanks.(Our tanks look like an amazon jungle , she's in charge of plants) I recommend a larger/higher wattage adjustable heater for the tank with the blue media and some foam pre filter (covers) for the intake ports in the water on both the HOB filters. Otherwise seem like nice setups and beautiful gilldren.
