Hello, I'm new to Bettas, and haven't had a tank for over twenty years. My Betta has been in an unheated tank all summer. Now it's cooler weather and he's too cold (65-ish degrees). How do I heat his tank, without making him too warm, too quickly? He's been very resilient, but he's got to have his limits. Thanks for your input.

Hi Meleet and welcome

It would really help to know the tank size before suggesting a heater as the amount of water AND temperature will dictate the type of heater. My suggestion bellow is based on Betta's normally being kept in 1-10 Gallon tanks.

I'd go with these as they are reliable and small:
Tetra HT Submersible Aquarium Heater (Up to 10 gallons of water)

If you have a 1-5 Gallon tank, you could opt to go with a 25W heater. They're all about the same price though when they're that small. The extra wattage allows for the heater to deal with greater temperature differences (so if you want the tank 10F above room temperature, it will be much easier for a 50W heater to do that than a 25W, etc).

Hope this helps!
