Looking at heaters for a 60ltr tank and not sure what to buy. There are brand names I recognise and cheaper ones I don't. Has anybody got any suggestions.

Don't buy a cheap heater! Last time I lost any fish was because my cheap heater stopped working. I've never had trouble with pen plax brand.

i have used visi therm and liked them for as long as i have been keeping fish.

If you're using a canister filter a Hydor inline heater is the way to go.

60 litres is about 15 gallons. A simple submersible heater is all you need. I would get 100 watt model, but you might get away with a 50 watt.

I had a 50 watt in my 16 gallon originaly..it seemed like it ran all the time... when I fried it during a water change I replaced it with a 100 watt penn plax... it only runs for very short periods off time and the water stays at 78 where I set it..
