Dies it matter where in the tank you position a heater?

Can it be horizontal on the back wall of the tank behind plants?

Makes no difference where it goes unless you have very poor circulation in the tank.

Hahaha yes if you don't turn off the heaters when you change the water then I guess it does matter. I use a powerstrip for the filters (and heaters back when I used them) so I can just turn everything off and on with the flick of a switch.

I meant thermally it doesn't matter. One can easily find out for themselves if it matters in their tank by using a thermometer :)

that reply put a smile on my face this morning...as i recalled one time during a change my wife ( who was doing her usual supervising from afar) wanted to know why the heater was smoking...:oops:

since that incident I also have gone to a switched power strip.. seeing as the filter has to be shut off as well so it wont loose it;s prime or be run dry...
