I have a 10 gallon setup with 2 live plants (anubias on driftwood and a green rush bunch) that will house a few guppies. The local tap water is very soft so I have been advised to use a conditioner to raise it to a little under 10 degrees hardness.
I was wondering if these blue crystals that I have added (1 teaspoon) will effect my live plants. The pH in my area is around 7.8 also. Is this too high for my future guppies and should I use a little bit of pH down? As of two days ago the tank is fully cycled and I did my final large water change today. Added 1 ppm ammonia to hold it until tomorrow when I purchase my new fish.
Thank you for any input.
