I have some new lime green stuff growing in darker crevices of my rocks. I'm not sure what it is but my main concern is that it could be harmful or over run my tank.

I've seen this before one other tanks... I beleive it is some sort of Macroalgea. If it is, it would be benificial, as it takes out some bad algea nutrients in your tank.

Its just really strange. The one pictured on the left is growing pretty fast(2 months) and is covering a 3 inch x 4 inch section. The one on the right is growing extremely slow (6 months or more) and is only about 1 cm long.[/u]

I do believe those to be a type of Sponge. Sponges can be beneficial as they are filter feeders, however their fast growth should indicate excess nutrients in the tank. If they continue to grow rapidly, they can cause problems. Pay special heed to your husbandry practices and monitor their growth. In the meantime, try to get us better pics, as they can be helpful in further identification.
