There in my 10 gallon quarantine now. Any tips on feeding them since i know they are picy eaters the first few weeks. I put some ornaments covered in brown algae and a spounge covered in brown algae in the tank. I also have some algae wafers.

One is extremly stressed out and im very woried. He is pale and has clamped fins. But the other one has excellent coloration and widespread fins. Should i add salt is is it too dangerous?

Also a question, are they nocturnal?

Are they fat? The best way for getting otos is to have the lfs only net ones that are the fattest. Fat=Healthy. As for feeding, the diatoms are their fav food. Algae wafers are good too, always suppliment with an algae wafer to be sure they don't go hungry.

In my experience, they are strictly algae eaters, and may feed on some flake food, but not often. They are always cleaning my plants or just sitting on their fat tummies looking at you.

Another thing you can get is Vegi Wagers.

Preferably no salt, but may be ok with a little. I personally don't use salt in my tanks. And salt can affect plants.

I'm not sure on that one. Mine never surface. And at night, a lot of times you'll see them on the glass. I think that's where mine sleep, lol.

I think it's normal for them to do it sometimes. I just haven't seen mine do it, maybe they have on occasion, but I was never paying attention to it.
