Hi I am new to this site and this is my first Thread! [Yes] I have 3 German blue rams , and i hope to put them in a planted aquarium with sand at the bottom and Cory catfish and some tetras? Is this OK ? The tetras may not be added , I have my rams with angelfish now but the angelfish have breed and are getting aggressive.
I have not kept my Rams in a Community tank before , they are in with the angelfish.
And the Tank size is 30 or 29 gallon.
Hope You Guys can help!
Thanks

From the perspective of behaviours, there is no problem. But you may have an issue with temperature. The common or Blue Ram needs warm water, 82F or above. Few corys can tolerate this long-term, Corydoras sterbai and Corydoras leucomelas being two I know of that can. But most others will not be happy/healthy at that temperature. Tetra are a similar issue, it depends upon the species, but most would be better cooler.

Are you aware of our fish profiles section? Second heading from the left in the blue bar across the top of the page takes you there; if the fish name is used in a post identical to the profile, it will shade and form a link to that profile that you can click, as the afore-mentioned species names did. More info can be found there.

Byron.

German Blue Rams can live with any community fish as long as they are well fed. If they are hungry than they will be aggressive towards other fish. I have one with cory cat, tetras, blind cave fish, and an octocinclus.
