I kept guppies for years in ~76F water. I never used breeding nets or anything, just had a plastic hornwort in there for the fry to hide in.

I have a 2.5 Gal Fry tank and if I leave the light on the water stays at 78 without a heater. I hear that the light is good for them. I move them after about a week to a 10 gal that is heated to 78 so I can turn off the light at night.
I don't know if it's ok to leave the light on but the fry don't seem to mind.
