Hello: I have looked everywhere on the web to find further info on Fluval Sea Calcium. No info addresses possible use in Freshwater.
So, Here Goes: I have COMMUNITY FRESHWATER aquariums, and need to increase calcium for the snail inhabitants. Is Fluval Sea Calcium SAFE to use in Freshwater ? If so what would be the dosing for lets say each 10 gallons to raise 4 degrees GH?

Personally i would not use a liquid calcium supplement for freswater aquaria as these tend to be highly concentrated. I do not have experiance with fluval's brand but i use esv 2 part (which has less of a concentration of calcium than a bottle of just calcium) for my 18 gal mixed reef and i dose just 5ml daily. Which means you have to be extremely precise if you do decide to dose your tank because if your calcium levels go past 100 ppm then your ph is going to sky rocket and kill everything in your tank. I would maybe suggest to put a small amount of dry reef rock or dry reef sand which in composed of calcium carbonate which will raise your gh and calcium levels slightly. I also would suggest you purchase eitger an api or a salifert calcium test kit so you can see what your levels are.
