Today i just bought florish by sea chem to aid my non growing and possibly dying java moss. The tank is very basic, .75wpg (its low but java moss doesnt need much) 20 gallon tank, houses 7 zebra danios, 2 otos and 4 ghost shrimp, please not that i will be adding bolivian rams once there done with there quarantine period.

My question is how much should i use since my tank is so lowly planted. The plant has some greyish transparent leaves and some brown stem thingys. My shrimp and my fish seem to love this plant so i would hate to lose it, thanks.

By the way on the back it says use 5ml per 60 gallons.
Based on several items in your post
I can recommend, from experience, that you double the dose and dosage frequency during the first week (ie. 10ml/60G four times during the first week on alternating days).

The second week dose 5ml/60G (the recommended dosage) but dose four times instead of two.
If by the middle of the second week you do not see a significant improvement in the plants' health something else is wrong.

If you have seen significant improvement in the plants' health then you can "experiment" with applying the recommended dosage (5ml/60G) either once or twice a week to determine which is best for your plants.

Musho:

I hope that F4A can provide input to this thread as he has way more experience than I do and I have pm'ed with the link to this thread.

Whether you have one or ten plants a minimum concentration of the various fertilization compounds is required for plant health.

Obviously too great a concentration of these compounds (nutrients for plants) is not good for fish and will probably generate serious algae as well as an algae bloom.

If a sufficient number of plants causes a rapid depletion of the nutrients the dosage is not increased but the dosage frequency is increased (ie. twice a week to three times a week).

I am not saying this very well but I hope you get "gist" of the content of this post.
