Last month I put in some new plants into my 20g tank, a hornwort, a water sprite and a few Wisteria, and right now one of them looks like it's about to collapse. Don't ask me to name it because to me, a plant looks like another, but I think it might be either the hornwort or water sprite, but I found out that parts of it kept breaking off and floating in the water. The only other description I can give is that when I got it, it was the only plant that came w/o roots.
My main question is, beside identifying the plant I'm talking about, will more grow in it's place or do I need to buy more of them?

You might be talking about the hornwort. Don't even try to anchor it or plant it as it won't survive that way. I did. I began to hate it and almost threw it away. It won't grow root and the part that's anchored or planted will only turn brown, die, decay and make a complete mess. I am under the impression that this plant isn't really suited for the aquarium. I started floating mine and it seems a little better but not by much. My angels love it. As far as growing back it should. Easiest way for identification is to post us a picture.

I would, but I already jumped to conclusions and tossed most of it into the trash. Since the other plants I have already have most of the top of the water covered, I don't think I'll order anymore hornwort, unless some start to grow out of the gravel.
