Hello guys,
I've been out of the hobby for years and am finally getting to start up another tank again. Growing up, my dad always had an interest in the hobby and a tank was always in the house. Quickly I grew to love the hobby, developed a bit of an obsession and before I knew it I was very interested in freshwater stingrays. I kept switching out tanks to get a bigger and better one to house more, larger monster fish/stingrays. Looking back, obsessive may not be a strong enough adjective. All the fun of collecting these stingrays had to end when I went off to college and no longer lived in my parent's house. Regulations at my school did not even allow me to get a small tank. :-( It's been years since I have had my last tank, and now with a living situation that allows me to be moving into an apartment with my boyfriend whom I love very much I am in a situation to finally get back in the hobby. Obviously not to the extent I was before, but today we took advantage of the Petco $1/gallon sale and got ourselves a nice 29 gallon tank :-D and a nice filter/heater/glass versa top. We don't even move in to our apartment until July and the fish tank was the first piece of furniture that we have had. Honestly, I must say that introducing somebody you love to a hobby you've enjoyed so much in the past is one of the greatest feelings in the world. Browsing through the fish section and picking out which gravel and decorations you will get and teaching somebody about which fish are suitable for your tank and can or can't go together is one of the greatest feelings in the world. I hope everybody gets to experience that some day.
