...When do you stop treating it?

I have put one dose in. It lasts 7 days so it's tomorrow it completes it's course then I have to syphon out the water (30% I think, do I do that tomorrow or the day after which will technicaly be the 8th day?) but do I put more medicine in or not? The guppie in question's tail is growing back slowly.

i would think that you would stop treating the problem when it has dissapeared. So, whenever the fin has grown back, that is when you should stop treating it...

hope this helps! :D

Actually, as long as the fins are growing back, I would stop the meds on the 7th day the way the instructions read. Do the water change on the 8th day, and watch to see that the symptoms don't return and that the fins continue to grow back. If you begin a 2nd course of treatment and the initial problem is gone, you can do more harm than good.
The fish now needs a chance to heal completely and recoup from the damage the illness caused. I have heard no indication to show that the meds haven't worked.
