Hey, new to the forum. i was wondering if any one had any ideas about a good filtration system, what I'm going to have is a 75 Gallon Tall System II Aquarium and it's going to be only filled up only 8 inches from the top, because I have a few plants that'll bob in sort of a floating pot with just some of the roots in the water. I plan on putting a few small (like an inch) albine oscars an ideas would be appreciated. also an ideas on getting a cycle going.

Hi and welcome aboard.

I'd avoid oscars at all costs. One oscar will need 60 gallons alone. Being at monstrous size, your plants will be eaten and your filtration will be quite higher than average(almost overfiltration) as oscars tend to poop a lot.

I'd search for other fish instead of the oscar. Pls do post a list of your choice of fish so we can help you sort it out. A lot of fish are not suitable for community tanks and others will outgrow your 75 gallons tank.

For filtration system, you can go with external filters/canister filters.

Bit rough, innit?:wink2:
Of course, bad unless there is only one oscar in the tank with no plants and filtration should be sufficient.
Oscars are my pet hates if I were asked by others in general of what South American cichlids I like.

Are you planning to use CO2 in the tank? I believe you will lose allot of the CO2 with the biowheel. It's usually better to use a canister filter.

Eddie, with oscars, no plants will survive in a tank. Unless the fish he plans to keep are plant-friendly, no can do.
