I have raised fish on and off for a few years, but recently decided to get back into the hobby. I purchased 5 female guppies and an African Dwarf frog and set up my 10-gallon aquarium for them. Every one was happy, but now some are picking on each other a bit. I'm not worried that they will kill each other, but the tails are getting a bit chewed. One of the "girls" I think is a boy. He/she is a bit bigger than the rest, is colored a blackish/purple throughout the whole body, and has a larger tail. It also appears to have the gonopodium rather than the fan-shaped fin, yet can "open" the fin more so that it looks a bit more like a female. The biggest thing that is throwing me off is it appears to have a gravid spot. Keep in mind that these fish were in an all girl tank at the LFS.
I don't know if the fighting as anything to do with possibly having a boy in the tank or not, but it would be nice to know exactly what gender this one is.
Thanks in advance for any help!
