As the above comment asked, what fish are with him? If you have aggressive tankmates he'll try and hide a lot so he may be better placed elsewhere if this is the case.
Many catfish do like to hide so it may be worth finding him a nice piece of wood or cave to hide in.
They can get very large so if you keep him I hope you have a good size tank They can get up to a foot long.

Oh poo yeah, we may well be
I just took it for granted that it was a catfish.

BTW is it always so quiet on here? I'm used to forums being mega busy.

Absolutely nothing to do with aggression, as stated in the post, Featherfins simply like a place to hide. Not out of fear, it's just in their nature.
