hey there, all livebearers r pretty easy to breed, but u have to have the room for the fry if u intend to keep them all, as they produce between 5 and 50 fry every month!!! u must have a ratio of 1male to 3 females(at least) so the male doesnt stress the females to death. depends on ur taste which fish u want, have a look at guppies, platies, mollys and swords. most are widely available at most fish stores, good luck .

males have a gonopodium (penis)
females are usally larger
this counts for all of the above

you do know that these are tropical fish and need heater?

that all depends on ur room temp. i kept guppies in a non heated tank for 2 years b4, and the temp was 70-72. (they got eaten in the end) :( but they prefer warm water, at around 77-78 ish, if i were u id get a seperate tank to breed as u will slowly max out ur tank with the waste, sorry if u have posted elsewhere but wat size is ur tank?

dont move the fantails, im my understanding the 3 feet tank is around 30-50 gallons which is barely if not enough for 4 goldfish, you can keep them in there as long as you have double filtration. Make the 2 feet (20 gallon high tank) a guppy breeder tank

Can I breed my Platies (one male & female) in a seperate tank with cold water that will have some fake plants & gravel? P.S. The male guppy seems to be bothering them & I think they want to mate.

I know Guppies can breed in cold & warm water. But I'd like to know if the Platies & the Mollies can breed in cold water too. Will have a separate tank with some gravel & fake plants (for the fry - babies).
LET ME KNOW SOON - ASAP!
