I’ve recently put 3 dwarf gouramis in my 24G community tank, and two of them seem to be fighting.

Does anybody know what this is, or how to fix it? I thought dwarf gouramis could live together.

They have been fighting just in the open space with no hard scape. They have also been chasing each other, and it reminded me of males chasing females..? do you think it could be breeding?

How many female dwarf gouramis are in the tank? Males outnumbering females is a problem. Male gouramis often don't get along, particularly if they don't have a lot of space to carve out their own territories away from each other.

Is 24 gallons not enough for 3? there are tons of hides and spots. And I’m not sure of the genders; I’ll try to figure that out.

Probably not. It doesn't seem like they have enough space from each other.

Yeah but that's assuming one male and the rest are females.

Those are two males sparring. 24g is big enough but males will be territorial and want to be the only male in a small tank. If you have 3 it needs to be 1M, 2F… or 3F.

Not really. This is their nature. It's hardwired into them. The only way to keep them from fighting is to rehome one of them into another tank.

Good news, the fighting has been resolved. After a week or two of settling into the aquarium, they stayed away from each other.
