This is a very personal question, but does your tank smell?

I've noticed mine smells, but it's not an offensive odor. It's more like an organic smell; somewhere between algae and rich potting soil, if you can imagine that.

I did some research and apparently that is what it's "supposed" to smell like??? So my question to all of you is: What does your tank smell like?

I just smelled mine (fish think im crazy now), and it kinda smells like that too. Kinda...musty? I have my temp between 79 and 81 so its VERY warm in there haha.
That's sounds about right. My temp is 74-76, not quite as hot as yours. LOL

Not to change my own subject, but I want to see a photo of the bubblenest! I can't wait for mine to do his thing!

Stan's was bigger, I dont know why its so small now! Galaxy is beggining to start making his, its small, but its a good step for my boy =)
That is so cool! I can't wait for ours to make one. The air pump that we have makes lots of bubbles on the top of the water, and I sometimes see him looking at it and it makes me wonder if he thinks it's someone else's bubblenest!

I'm glad that the consensus is that an organic-like smell is the norm. I was a teeny-tiny bit worried. I figure if it didn't smell rotten, it should be ok, but you just never know!
