To the experience reef owners when you get new coral do you dip it. If so, what kin d type solution do you use. I had someone suggest coral revive.

I'm not that experienced, but I have never dipped my corals. I didn't dip any of my live rock either, so I figure I will get little critters, but that's part of a marine tank ;-) I may regret this one day, I'd like to see what others say. I have a friend who is very much into marine tanks with corals and he also doesn't dip, and has success.
Yeah i have a friend that has been in saltwater for years andshe doesnt either. You get in the store and they confince you of this stuff. I didnt buy any... bBut i really hope the experience people chime in too
I have never dipped anything going into my marine tanks.
I am glad i didnt buy it.
I'm very new to the SW game but have added quite a bit of differant coral type to my tank. I've never dipped themTo play devils advocate, I know several people who won't put anything into their tank without dipping it first. One buddy talks about seeing all kinds of bad stuff coming out of them on occassion when he dips them. I've heard stories of people introducing new corals only to introduce something along with i that they didn't want. I guess it kind of like new fish. I should QT them but I don't. I'm sure I'll pay for it one time. Already kind of have on the FW side.
You know that is what the guy said . You would be surprised what falls off.....probably will pay the price. I do have a small tank that i but some of them in before display tank . We just had someone give us a 75g maybe i will think about it for that
