Anyone have experience using Mardel's Coppersafe in a heavily planted tank? I have a disease problem in my main tank, but I'd prefer not to kill all my plants...

I'm gonna assume he has ich or velvet since thats all copper sulfate is really effective on. As far as plants, it depends. Like most things some plants won't be phased the slightest, other species will be dying after 24 hours lol.

I have a post under disease with specifics. I think it's a combo of issues: ick/internal parasite.

I second Mikaila. I now use it for parasites, I found the fish were less bothered by Coppersafe than Aquari-Sol. But it does bother some plants, though none were killed, just set back a bit. I do not use Flourish when I use Coppersafe, and this seems better; my first time i dosed Flourish the next day, and I think the additional copper may have been problematical. Since then, I've not had issues with the plants that I could attribute to Coppersafe.

Thanks to all, I administered Coppersafe this PM. Further observation regarding my fish illness - looks like ick. The "internal parasite"swollen tummy issue turned out to be my own fault and not a parasite. I have been crunching small snails along the top of my tank every couple of days. Who knew guppies love pond snail escargot! Shook the dead snails like dogs when separating snail from crushed shell. Seems like they have been feasting on the snail remnants and I didn't notice. Quite the unexpected food supplement.
