does a compant flourecent bulb produce less heat than a standard incandecent?lately my water temp has been around 82 degrees and i know it is because of the bulb.
can i keep any plants in the tank if i have a mini compact flourecent? The one i was looking at was for my mini bow 5 ,all-glass makes it and it is 6500k and it says it promotes aquadic plant growth.
Yes, but you have to be aware some plants will require more kelvins of light.
Hygorphila polysperma and difformis are good choices as they are fast growing plants.
Each 10W compact fluorescent bulb shines as bright as a 50W incandescent for an easy way to upgrade lighting conditions. Helps promote plant growth in small aquariums)drfostersmith
