My rics, acros and acans, need calc, alk, and mag mixed from my moded RODI of proper temp before more RTN sets in from a recent frag.
BWAHAHAHA!!! Brilliant!

I agree with you, BDM - using words is the best way to go - but we live in a world where text and chat-speak have become the norm - its really filtered into everything. If you and I were to swear off ever using any of these again, there's no way to prevent everyone from doing so.

We're hoping to have all of our stickies cleaned up, sorted, and easily accessible to anyone who needs them in the very near future, they are a bit of a wreck right now, but I'm working on it! Hopefully we can make it easier for anyone looking to find it - or be pointed in the right direction! I remember being confused by some of these when I was new, too, and like Gilly - I still am from time to time! We manage! ^__^

we may live in that world where such abbreviations have become the norm, ... i call it lazy, ...

but look at all the fun it has caused "IDK" ... do you know how many people you have to ask before you find someone who knows what that means ? :) LOL

Nooo please don't use Ni as nitrite, and Na as nitrates! Those of us who have taken chemistry courses will be like "Nickel? Sodium? What???"

With you on this one, Austin! I've actually never seen this done here - typing up the list, I got confused by that, as well! I often capitalize the I and A: nitrIte, nitrAte - you'd be surprised at how many beginners miss that these are two different words! No worries, our Reffies will go over the list before the sticky is updated!

Ironically, i am seeing this for the first time, right now. Thank you all for compiling it. I work in a chemistry lab and coincidentally test our WFI (Water For Injection) for Nitrates, which is also written as NO3. I think Nitrite is NO2, and Ammonia is NH3.
