I have fully decided after much debate, dispute alot of coffees and headache tablets to go for south american dwarf cichlids....i have a 36 uk gallon bowfront with various rocks ect,.,im wondering if these fish are not to many to put in together and could i add more in time...?

my choice of fish are...

2 koi angelfish

between 3-5 bolivian ram dwarf cichlids

between 3-5 panda dwarf cichlids

2 zebra dwarf plecos

p.s....would they need to be male and female angelfish.....and should i have a 2 female to 1 male ratio...?

I would go with just 2 rams, both male, as u probly dont wanna breed. I dont know about the other 'panda' cichlids, but just remember, even though they are small, the males will still stake out territories, and will fight if there is not enough space. With the angels, just be aware that they will grow to 6in vertically, so make sure ur tank is deep enough. good luck.

yea angels do tend to grow priti big length ways i remember my dad having them about 15 years ago, they were my fav in his tank...my tank is 36 uk gallon,,the lenght is 32 inches,,width is 16 inches and depth is 16 inches so that should be enough considering im not going to overstock at the moment so they can have their swimming space and hides...i know males tend to be dominant but should i keep to all males with all my fish as im not ready to have fry or want it at the moment as i dont have spare tanks to seperate the adults from the fry...thanks again for the advice and help :)
