My question is this , i have been running a Salt water tank now for some time . My heater malfunctioned and pretty much cooked everything in my tank .
I've decided to change over from salt to fresh . I currently have a 70 gallon tank with a 2 fluval canisters and a power head , i've mainly used them for water movement in my tank . I am using crushed coral for my substrate till now and i have a large amount of rock also . Now since my tank over heated the rock which used to be live i am now assuming is dead as in just decorative .
Now my question is since i have dumped all my salt and refilled the tank with fresh water do i still have to dump my rock and substrate ? and is there anything else i need to do or should i just continue with salt water since that is what was in the tank .
Thanx in advance
Ed
